TRĒO was created for 9 Lives in 2017, a unique design event where 9 designers (lives) express their take on furniture design for cats in urban, compact living spaces. It aims to showcase how good design can improve experiences and cultivate a deeper appreciation for quality design.

Inspired by trees, we saw how wild cats interact in forests and observed the freedom they experience. We’d like to recreate this plot for domestic cats, allowing them to express their inner wild. The intent to adopt the outlines of trees in TRĒO’s design was translated into a “blossoming tree”, a “shrub” and a “tall sapling” - designed with cat and human interactive functions. Be it hanging your cap, your cat collars, creating an all-rounder cat-zone, you will find it in TRĒO.

These funds will be contributed to www.catwelfaresociety.org, an animal welfare organisation based in Singapore providing much needed assistance to local street cats. 

With your help, together we can make original and thoughtful cat furniture design a reality. Pieces that not only look beautiful as a centrepiece in your home, but also something that you and your cat can enjoy together.

We need the critical mass and minimum quantity to commercialise the pieces, although our manufacturing partners have kindly agreed to reduced minimum orders, the number of pieces that needs to be ordered upfront is still a challenge for us to fufill on our own as a small design consultancy with limited financial resources.
